The consumer-bailor can purchase extra insurance on any shipped or freighted items. (All shipped items or freighted shipments automatically receive $500 of insurance on them) The rate is $10 for each additional $100 worth of extra insurance. The consumer-bailor must let employees of the company know if they want extra insurance at time of pick up in writing on the front side of the contract that that items are inventoried on and they sign when the company picks up the items from the consumer-bailor for such services. The consumer-bailor must also declare how much extra insurance on each individual item or freighted shipments that the consumer-bailor wants shipped or freighted with the company at time of pick up.
The company will charge the consumer-bailor for any extra repacking of all shipped or freighted items. This includes labor, packing material, custom made boxes or pallets, and time. The rate varies from $25-$75 per shipped item to $85 per hour (minimum) per freighted shipment
Transportation charges may be assessed based on dimensional weight, which is a volumetric standard. Dimensional-weight pricing is applicable on a per-package or per-shipment basis to all shipments in customer packaging. UPS packaging may also be subject to dimensional-weight pricing. If the dimensional weight exceeds the actual weight, charges based on the dimensional weight will be assessed. Customers who fail to apply the dimensional-weight calculation to a package may be assessed dimensional-weight charges from UPS. See the Dimensional Weight description in the Fees and Other Shipping Information section of the UPS Rates Guide for additional details.
If you have a damage claim, please save the box as is and any packaging material used to ship the damaged item's' for inspection by UPS to back up your claim, this is very important.
Pieces weighing less than 151 lbs. that exceed 165 inches in length and girth combined ("extra-large" packages) may be accepted as UPS Express Freight U.S. shipments. These pieces do not have to be palletized (skidded), stackable or forkliftable. Minimum billable weight is 151 lbs. regardless of actual weight.
The length and girth of a package is length plus (2 times the height) plus (2 times the width). If the dimension includes a fraction, a fraction of one-half or greater will be rounded up to the next whole number; less than one-half will be rounded down to the next whole number.
We may, at our sole discretion, open and inspect any shipment without notice. We do this when the contents in the box is loose and not secure, overweight, or something is leaking, etc.
The maximum limits for UPS Express U.S. packages are 150 lbs. and 119 inches in length and 165 inches in length and girth. Packages that weigh 150 lbs. or less and exceed 108 inches in length or 130 inches in length and girth will be considered "oversize" packages. Oversize packages will be rated based on the greater of the package's actual rounded weight or dimensional weight. In addition, an oversize charge will apply; see the UPS Rates Guide.
Packages that exceed 119 inches in length and 165 inches in length and girth may be refused or, if found in the express package network, may be considered for transportation at our sole discretion. These packages also will be rated based on the greater of the package's actual rounded weight or dimensional weight, and an oversize charge will apply.
The length and girth of a package is length plus (two times the height) plus (two times the width). If the dimension includes a fraction, a fraction of one-half or greater will be rounded up to the next whole number; less than one-half will be rounded down to the next whole number.
