The University of Colorado Denver offers an exciting location for students to complete their undergraduate and graduate studies. Learn more about CU Denver and what this unique school has to offer to prospective and current students.
CU Denver's metropolitan location offers a number of benefits to students. The city is growing rapidly and attracting new industries and career opportunities. Many businesses call Denver home, including healthcare facilities, nonprofit organizations, entrepreneurial startups, and even some Fortune 50 companies. The fact that about 75 percent of the school's alumni (who number more than 80,000) choose to stay in Colorado after graduation speaks to the draw of this area of the country.
The college offers more than 100 academic degree programs, including 52 master's programs, 13 doctoral programs, and many certificate programs. In fact, CU Denver awards more graduate degrees than any other public institution in the state. That equates to more than 25 percent of all graduate degrees in Colorado. Some of the most popular undergraduate programs at this college include biology, psychology and pre-engineering, while the Master of Business Administration (MBA) is the most popular graduate degree program.
With more than 18,000 students enrolled, there's always something to do on CU Denver's active campus. The campus is actually located in downtown Denver on Speer Boulevard and Larimer Street, which sets students right in the middle of all the city's exciting activity. Just steps away from campus, students can find a number of shopping, dining, and entertainment options in Denver's bustling downtown district. Just a bit farther out are many of the outdoor attractions that Colorado has to offer, from hiking and cycling trails to skiing and snowboarding.
The University of Colorado Denver is a great choice for students who want a metropolitan location with the opportunity to participate in outdoor adventures. Meanwhile, the excellent academic offerings ensure that students graduate ready to take on real-world challenges in their chosen career path.
