When your student graduates from college and is ready to go out into the world to start their new career, you both don't want to worry about getting their belongings from their school residence across the country to their new address in another state and city. By this time they have lived off campus and have an apartment or house of furniture and items.
College Student Storage offers convenient freighting services to relieve this burden. Freight can be a great option if you are looking to send all of your items out of state or across the country. We work with many students who have graduated or withdrawn from school and are looking to freight their items. Whether you need your items freighted home or to a new address anywhere in the country or abroad, relax, we got it!

- We deliver to your student boxes and tape to pack up small items ahead of time. Then we pick up all of their furniture and items from their residence and bring them to our warehouse.
- We can freight your student's furniture and belongings anywhere in the United States or in the world. We use a source called Freight Quote that lets us pull from over 10,000 freighting companies, so we can assure the cheapest quote.
- We customize our shipping pallets to make sure all of your belongings are secured safely. We then will repack all items and get them ready for freighting. Once a freight company picks up your items from our warehouse, we will send you tracking numbers. You can trust that your shipment will remain safe in transit.
- We can freight anything, this includes but is not limited to boxes, plastic containers, any furniture, beds, bikes, skis and snowboards and more.
Don't Worry About University or Apartment Complex Rules
Most universities don't allow you to frieght property before the scheduled moving day. Many apartment complex parking lots are too small or tight to get larger trucks in to pick up or drop off your freight. Freight companies don't do moving! You need to move items yourself. If you're organizing a move from far away or facing other time constraints, these rules can throw a wrench in your moving-day plans. Fortunately, we can handle the logistics so you don't have to worry about them.
Freight pricing:
Freighting cost is based on weight, dimensions, and destination. Plus pickup, moving, and repacking these items. You need to email the office for a quote (info@csstorage.com). Please use the header "freight quote" in your email. The email needs to include all a list of large furniture and random items you want freighted, plus an estimate on the number of boxes, and the address of freight destination. We will get back to you with 24 hours with a quote. Just a heads up, beds, and couches are extremely expensive to ship because they need custom pallets made and are oversized.
Repacking a Residence for Freighting:
We charge $95 an hour, minimum of 2 hours for 2 guys to repack a room or $135 an hour, minimum of 2 hours for 3 guys to repack a room. Includes packing material, boxes, and moving items to our warehouse. Custom boxes for TV's, bikes, skis, snowboards, tv's, guitars are extra and are $10-$25 depending on size.
8 Things you should know about freighting:
- Freighting usually takes up to 2 weeks to get to you, from the time we pick it up.
- CSS can freight anything except cars.
- You can have items or a car freighted to our warehouse where we can store them for a period of time then deliver them to your new residence when you need them.
- We strongly recommend taking extra insurance to cover your belongings
- Customers freight items to our warehouse because freight companies don't move items up or downstairs. We do!
- CSS will repack all your items that need repacking at our warehouse to make sure they arrive you safely.
- You don't have to be in state or at your residence for us to freight your items. Many students for various reasons need items repacked and freighted home but are not in state. Not a problem, we got you covered.
- Large items, like beds and couches, can be expensive to repack and freight because they require custom pallets and are oversized. We can freight anything but to save yourself headache and money it may be best to look into giving away or selling your larger items.
